Model XTL - Laser and X-ray Isolated Power Systems

With laser procedures increasing significantly at most hospitals,
PG LIFELINK
has developed an unprecedented isolated power system to meet ever-growing power requirements, eliminate scheduling difficulties, and above all, ensure safety.
Most existing power supplies, designed to lock out other outlets until procedures are complete, cannot handle the growing power demands required by laser procedures. These older units can also be accidentally turned off before a procedure is finished. A specially designed power supply, available from
PG LIFELINK
solves these problems and more.
Power is controlled through a series of mercury contactors activated by the
PG LIFELINK Model ALO-RS Laser Module or the AXO-RS X-ray Module
. The new Plug Control Style Power Panel with its unique features can be energized in the operating room simply by opening the door over the receptacle. The machine is then "locked on" until someone inside the operating room unplugs it. This feature eliminates accidental shutdowns caused by someone outside the operating room. And only the circuits in those rooms that are activated contribute to the system's leakage, helping reduce "nuisance" alarms.
With this system, power is selectively provided to the location where needed. If there are multiple laser machines, additional circuits can be energized through the corresponding
CLO-RS
unit for that circuit. The panel can serve up to 12 locations without lockout or with the lockout feature.
The Plug Control Style Laser Panel with lockout can also limit the number of energized outlets, allowing the hospital to control the number of laser procedures performed at any one time.
The maximum number of energized outlets are field adjustable from one to four. The transformer is sized to handle the load.
Specify NEMA configuration of the receptacle required.
Standard Plug Control System
Lockout:
Plug Control System with lockout, power is controlled through a series of mercury contactors activated by the door over the Laser Outlet
(ALO-R)
inside the operating room. All other outlets are locked out until the door is shut. 12 circuits are maximum.
Selectability:
Plug Control System with up to four outlets that can be on at any one time before the other outlets are locked out. Power is controlled through a series of mercury contactors activated by the door over the Laser Outlet
(ALO-R)
inside the operating room. The Laser Panel has an electronic module that counts how many doors are allowed to be on before it locks out the remaining outlets. This setting is factory set to your specification and is field adjustable by switches on a printed circuit board. 12 circuits are maximum.
Advantages
The advantages of our Plug Control System are the hospital staff does not have to leave the operating room to turn the Laser/X-ray System on or off. For safety no one can turn them off accidentally until they are finished and unplug their machine. Gravity will close the door automatically. Each mercury contactor has its own branch breaker to protect its circuit. This gives you the option to mix amperages on the same system since many hospitals have different models of lasers. 20, 30, 50 & 60 amp lasers are very common. With our Selectability Plug Control System you can run more than one Laser at any one time, saving the cost of two or more power supplies. Since our system is also field adjustable you can make substitutions without major changes. Change the branch breaker, receptacle NEMA configuration and reset switches for how many outlets you want on at any one time. With our Plug Control only the room that is using the system will get an alarm if a fault occurs.
Circuit Breaker Panel
Similar to a basic Isolated power panel, power is fed through branch circuit breakers appropriately sized for the application. With this style, power is provided to each circuit (1-16) at all times. The disadvantage of this is that all circuits are on, contributing to system leakage. Also when an alarm goes off it will alarm in all rooms per NFPA-99 Code.
